Riceland CEO meets with NCFC and USA Rice
Jason Brancel, President and CEO of Riceland Foods was in Washington, D.C. last week (April 19 & 20) to participate in the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives Executive Council meeting.

Jason Brancel, President and CEO of Riceland Foods was in Washington, D.C. last week (April 19 & 20) to participate in the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives Executive Council meeting. Jason was recently appointed to the Executive Council which is the governing and strategic arm of the Council.
The Executive Council discussed several important issues for the organization including increasing contributions for the PAC (Political Action Committee), revamping the communications fair, and reviewing priorities for the 2023 and 2024 Directors Conferences. The Council also heard from outside speakers on the topic of “Achieving Effective Political Advocacy”.
Representing the Ricleand Foods PAC, Jason attended political fundraisers for Senator Amy Klobuchar and Southeast Missouri Congressman Jason Smith. (pictured below)

While in Washington, Jason took the opportunity to stop by the USA Rice office to get a briefing from Betsy Ward, President and CEO of USA Rice, and staff. The staff updated Jason on domestic and international promotions efforts and the latest farm bill developments. (pictured below)

Mikka Felty of Stanford, Ark. will serve as a director of District Two. Gary Sitzer of Weiner, Ark. will serve Riceland members in District Three.
